How I Cleared Up my Adult Acne (Thank you Carley's Clear & Smooth)

#1: My skin looks amazing!
I have been struggling with acne for what feels like ages. I turn 31 this week, so this is what you would call adult acne. In the past few months it has gotten worse, especially in my neck/ jawline area and it's just agonizing.
It kills my confidence and makes me so self-conscious. Especially since the work I do is sitting right across from people, face to face.
I have tried many solutions. In the past 6 months alone I have tried:
- Expensive cod liver oil from Canada
- Evening primrose oil
- Probiotics
- Vitamin A
- Witch hazel toner
- Zinc
- Dr. Alkaitis skincare products - worked well but are very expensive
- A fancy line of skincare products - also expensive and did not work well for me
- Adding chlorella and spirulina to smoothies
- Not eating sugar, not eating bananas, etc
- Humbling myself to ask many people for advice
- Etc, etc
I more or less followed the protocol for diet and supplements that Dr. Mark Hyman outlines in this article about acne. And every time I heard a new tip, I jumped and tried it out.
Nothing worked! It was really frustrating. Until ...
A month ago, I stumbled across Carley's Clear and Smooth.
Carley's has great reviews all over the internet for their Clear & Smooth Acne Treatment. I ordered a bottle and it came with a bar of their natural soap. Their prices are awesome, ingredients are natural, no testing on animals, customer service is friendly, shipping is fast, and you can return any products that don't work out. I had nothing to lose.
Right away I felt optimistic. They have a detailed protocol that you follow once a day:
- Wash with natural soap
- Wash with Acne Treatment, let it sit for 30-60 seconds
- Rinse off with a washcloth that is lathered up with natural soap in the shower, not over the sink
I have been following these directions to the T for the past month and my skin started feeling better right away, then went through a little "looking worse before it got better," but now that it's been a full month I can really see a significant difference. Oh my gosh I'm so happy!
Here's a quick breakdown of their products that I have tried so far:
Clear and Smooth Acne Treatment: Love it, want to marry it!
Natural Soap: This soap is great, it leaves your skin feeling squeaky clean but never dried out. I will use this soap forever.
Daytime Moisturizer for Acne Prone Skin: Has a really nice light touch, makes my skin very happy, works well under makeup. I received a free sample of this and then purchased the big bottle.
Midnight Moisturizer for Acne Prone Skin: I got a sample of this too and really liked it. It's thicker than the Daytime Moisturizer. However, I did not purchase a bottle, I think I can manage without it during the summer. Might get some in the winter months when skin is drier.
Tangerine Lip Balm: I got a sample of this little bugger and it makes my lips feel like butter! Heaven!
Mineral Foundation: I tried a sample of this and it's the only product I wasn't crazy about. Not bad, but I won't switch over to this.
All in all, I am so tremendously grateful and relieved that my skin is clear. I will point out, none of the links above are affiliate links, Carley's does not offer an affiliate program but that will not stop me from singing their praises from the rooftops!
I would like to pat myself on the back for never giving up. And I'm so focused on optimizing your nutrition, but it's a good reminder that what you put ON your skin really matters too.
#2: I am officially a celebrity nutrition coach!
Wheeee! Today I had my first honest-to-goodness Oscar-nominated client, very exciting! I can't say who it is, but I wanted to mention it along with the good news about clear skin because I felt much more confident sitting across from this person with clear skin!
In holistic health, we teach that everything is connected. Food, nutrition, skin care products, self-esteem, appearance, career, confidence, relationships -- ALL connected. So if there's any area of your life where you're struggling, don't give up! By shining the light on areas that need help, you will elevate yourself in so many ways.
Love,
Kerry
